From 01 July 2011, the Australian Govt has proposed a new points test for skilled migration visa applications. Points will no longer be awarded on the basis of an applicant's occupation, but will be awarded for English language proficiency on the following basis:
- Competent English - IELTS Bands 6 - 0 Points Proficient English - IELTS Bands 7 - 10 Points
- Superior English - IELTS Bands 8 - 20 Points
It is expected that a pass marks will be set at 65 Points.

GOOD NEWS to share with all of you. Immigration New Zealand has announced that the proposed implementation of a minimum 2 years study period before international students may apply for a Study to Work visa has been deferred to 2 April 2012.So we are happy to announce that our students for the coming intakes till March will not be affected. They can apply for Work visa after only 1 year of studies.
This is in regards to the Australia Assessment Level (AL3) changes from 01st April 2011 for Subclass 573 (Bachelor's & Master's programs). Embassy requires only 3 months old funds instead of 6 months old and any one can sponsor the applicant.
Previously if the student wants to study 3 years course then he need to show 3 years funds, now we supposed to show only 2 years funds to Australian High Commission, i.e., if the student wants to study 3 years Bachelors Degree then he need to show only 2 years funds.
If the student is paying 2 years tuition fee upfront then it's not required to show proof of funds.
